Nicholas is a Year 5 student at Reide Boys’ Grammar School. His favourite subjects are computer science, history and English. He loves mysteries and solving puzzles.

His class teacher, Mrs Hudson, helps her students do well at what they like. Nicholas likes computers and Mrs Hudson gives him special help. Nicholas is a computer whiz. He is so good he’s a BG. [That's pronounced bee-gee]

Nicholas has unusual parents. First they’re quite old. Mr Twit, whose name is Gerard, is 63 and retired. He plays lots of golf and grows tulips. Gerard is a G & T man.

Mrs Twit, whose name is Virginia, is an artist. She has a home studio full of her paintings. She’s old too. 51. Boy that’s old! Nicholas is an only child with parents who are not exactly nippers.

Now while Mr and Mrs Twit love Nicholas, they are busy with their hobbies. Some might say too busy.

Apart from being nuts about Sherlock Holmes, Nicholas likes designing web pages and making plans to be a detective. Oh, and he’s extremely particular about his hair. You can read about his tragic haircut in the first Nicholas Twit mystery.
