Felicity Heywood-Jones

Felicity is a teenager who has recently changed schools. It was a huge upset in her life. Her father left home to live with a woman about half his age. Overnight, money became a problem.

The family home was sold and Felicity’s mother had to get a job. She started a domestic cleaning service. Felicity helps her mother after school. Felicity had to leave the posh Milverton Hall Girls’ School where she had close friends and move to the nearby government high school.

And there are boring boys at this school with many suffering from footballmania and pimples.

Felicity is the youngest of three children. She has two brothers. Timothy, 20, lives on campus at Melbourne University and Jonathon, 17, is doing his best to fail Year 12. Jonathon has been allowed to stay at his private school because Year 12 is too important to change schools. Boys get all the breaks.

Felicity is angry and confused. She adores her father and can’t understand. Why did he go?

The change in schools, the loss of her friends, the cretinous boys at her new school, the lowly part-time work cleaning and ironing have all made Felicity very unhappy. When she bumps into Nicholas Twit she is ready to bark and bite. And bark and bite she does. But little does Felicity know that meeting Nicholas Twit will bring a huge change to her life. She will never be the same again.
